Two pubs a day have either been demolished or converted to other uses according to analysis of Government data by Real Estate adviser Altus Group.
616 pubs have completely disappeared since new rates came into play. Although the £1000 discount, which 90% of pubs received, all with a ratable value of under £100,000, has been extended to 2018/19 will it really help us in the long run?
The rates system is broken, it is obvious to everyone in the drinks trade but the Government seems oblivious. Pubs will continue to close unless something and very quickly!
